ADMISSION

Admission to the Religious Education Program is open to families who are registered and contributing members of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.  Exceptions to this policy may be made for those who for reasons beyond their control cannot attend the RE Program within their own parish. The decision and conditions on exceptions will be made by the DRE in consultation with the St. Paul Pastor.

Registration for the RE Program is held each year in August and by special arrangement throughout the RE year. Registration forms must be completed by the parent or guardian. If your child is transferring into the St. Paul RE program, please contact the RE program or parochial school last attended and obtain a Certificate of Transfer for our records. Parents of all children baptized at a parish other than St. Paul must provide us with a copy of the baptismal certificate.

                                                                                    Fees

Fees are determined annually and are used for texts, teacher manuals, professional publications, formation classes,  supplies, education materials and in-services for staff.

We ask that fees be paid as soon as you are able. No child will be denied participation in the St. Paul Religious Education program because of a family's inability to pay. Please let the office know if this is your circumstance.
If you are unable to pay, please consider volunteering your time to the operation of the Religious Education program.

2010-2011 Fees:  $100 family fee + $25 book fee per child.
(Maximum fee per family is $175.)

                                                                               ATTENDANCE

Students should attend classes on a regular basis. Attendance at all classes is extremely important to the development of lessons. Parents must telephone the office at 219-464-8502 or provide the office with a message about an absence. By cooperating with this policy, an absence would be considered "excused."
If we do not hear from a parent, the student will be marked "unexcused."

Please remember that although parents are the primary catechists for their children, students attending St. Paul Religious Education are members of a faith-sharing community, and attendance is important. Missed assignments will need to be made up, and an accumulation of 3 or more "unexcused" absences will result in a meeting with the Director to discuss your family's personal catechetical needs.
